Salted Shrimp Sauce (Saewoo Jeot)

Makes ~1/3 cup

Prep time: 10 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons of Korean salted and fermented shrimp (saewoo jeot)
  • 2 tablespoons of finely sliced scallions
  • 1 clove of garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1/2 tsp gochugaru 
  • 1/2 tsp toasted sesame seeds

Combine all ingredients and serve. Add in a couple of drops of toasted sesame oil before serving if you desire. Use sparingly as it is very salty and pungent. A must-have condiment for dishes such as bossam.
